La 12 zile de când Grecia se luptă cu incendii de vegetație nemaivăzute, autoritățile elene au început să evalueze pagubele provocate de flăcările care au devastat zone imense de pădure, au distrus case și au forțat mii de persoane să fugă din locuințele lor, scrie Reuters. Peste 56.000 de hectare au fost pârjolite, în Grecia, din cauza incendiilor. Adică o suprafață de două mai mare decât Bucureștiul a fost mistuită de flăcări.

Întregul teritoriu al Greciei este luni sub cod galben de caniculă iar în sud, avertizarea este însoțită și de una similară pentru vânt puternic.

Doi oameni au murit, cel puțin 20 sunt răniți, printre pompieri, voluntari și civili, în timp ce incendiile sunt încă departe de a fi controlate.

Peste 150 de focare concomitente au întins la limita suportabilului capacitatea serviciilor de intervenție. Cele mai grave sunt incendiile din nordul Atenei și din insula Evia, unde feriboturile au evacuat mii de oameni din calea flăcărilor.

În Atena, flăcările înaintează cu repeziciune, ajutate de vânt și vegetația uscată după temperaturile caniculare din ultima perioadă. Mii de oameni au primit ordin să-și părăsească locuințele aflate în nordul capitalei elene, din cauză că incendiile se apropiau rapid. Case, mașini și afaceri au fost mistuite.

În insula Evia, a doua cea mai mare din Grecia, incendiile au ajuns la o dimensiune periculoasă. Oamenii din mai multe localități au fost evacuați pe mare, deoarece toate drumurile erau blocate de flăcări.

Autoritățile elene au început evaluarea pagubelor produse de incendii

O serie de incendii a lovit țara în ultimele zile. Grecia se confruntă cu cea mai severă caniculă din ultimii 30 de ani, în care temperaturile au crescut până la 45 de grade Celsius. Imaginile filmate cu dronele arată amploarea daunelor provocate de incendiile de nestăvilit de pe continent, la nord de Atena.

Peste 56.000 de hectare au fost pârjolite, în Grecia, din cauza incendiilor de vegetație. Adică o suprafață de două mai mare decât Bucureștiul a fost mistuită de flăcări.

Premierul Kyriakos Mitsotakis a anunțat pentru luni o ședință ministerială privind ajutoarele pentru cei care au pierdut bunuri în urma incendiilor.

Scopul nostru este să finalizăm inventarul cât mai curând posibil, pentru a începe imediat procesul de ajutorare a cetățenilor noștri afectați”, a declarat ministrul infrastructurii și transporturilor.

La Atena, oficialii au început să evalueze daunele cauzate de un incendiu care a mistuit câteva suburbii la nord de oraș săptămâna trecută.

Flăcările, care au izbucnit la poalele Muntelui Parthina, la marginea capitalei, au pus pe fugă mii de oameni și au distrus zeci de case și afaceri, precum și mii de hectare de teren forestier.

Grecia a primit asistență din partea mai multor țări europene pentru a ajuta la lupta împotriva flăcărilor. Luni, peste 600 de pompieri s-au luptat încercând să stingă incendiile din Evia.
